The Animist quality standard

A badge on a specialist's profile names one exact production phase, and means their work in that phase was assessed against the list below. Every check must hold — one failure is a failure.

Each check is written so two reviewers would answer it the same way. "Looks professional" is not a check; "no control carries a non-uniform scale" is.

Rigging

at least 1 sample(s)

Controller naming is consistent and predictable

Controls are zeroed at rest
The hierarchy is clean, with no orphaned nodes
Deformation holds at the extremes of the range of motion
Skin weights have no sudden jumps

Modeling

Topology is quads except where triangles are deliberate
UV shells do not overlap unintentionally
Pivot placement and axis alignment are correct
Scale is real-world and its unit is stated
Materials are assigned and named
No n-gons or duplicate faces

Animation

Timing and spacing read clearly
Arcs hold through the motion
Contact points do not slide
Graph editor curves are clean
If it loops, it closes seamlessly

Compositing

at least 1 sample(s)

Project structure and node naming are tidy
Colour space is declared and respected
Matte edges are clean
Output settings match the requested delivery

Craft

at least 1 sample(s)

The sample matches the brief it claims
The work is the applicant's own and their role is clear
The delivered file opens and is complete
Quality is consistent across the samples
